Waimate Centennial School Library

Welcome to Camp Week. I hope the weather is fine for all those awesome activities that have been planned.

Seeing as it is Camp Week, I have not put any new books into the Library but it will still be open each lunchtime.

Rememer, we have a selection of magazines in the Library which are updated regularly.

Waimate Centennial School Library

Welcome to Week 4.

This week we have another great selection of new books going into the Library.

Do have a look at them if you are wanting something to read for your Reading Crusade.

We have two awesome books in the Non-Fiction area. Both are New Zealand ones.

The first is a beautifully illustrated book about the history of farming in New Zealand.

The second one is quite topical. It's called 'Weather Watch New Zealand'. Read it and find out why we have the weather we do! There are also activities that can be completed - maybe during a wet weekend!

Keep up the reading - I have seen some reading diaries - and many children have read many more than the 6 books that they need too.

Remember the Library is open every lunchtime.

Waimate Centennial School Library

This week we have a selection of books that hopefully will appeal to a wide range of readers. Come and check them out.

We have a non-fiction book about the fun facts behind 'space'. There are fun facts, photos, illustrations and much more.

Our other non-fiction book is another in the 'Horrible Science' series. This one is 'Measley Medicine' - science with the squishy bits left in!

Our two senior fiction books this week are for the girls - another 'Royal Ballet School Diary' book and another book in the series about Stella Star.

We have another Zac Power book in the junior fiction area together with a 'Lego Knight's Kingdom' book.

In the senior picture books we have one about the Mutant Ninja Turtles and one called 'Mechanical Harry', for those of you who are into things mechanical.

We have a new 'I Spy' book in the picture books as well as one called 'Soccar Game'.

As I said something for everyone!

Remember the Reading Crusade - I know there are many children who are busy reading any moment they get. Keep it up! Have a look at the new selection of New Zealand books that I have put out - you can take these out.

Remember to keep reading and - 'join the Crusade!'

Have a good week.

Waimate Centennial School Library

Welcome back to the Library - 2009!
It is great to be back, hope you think so too.
We have a fabulous library and I hope to see you in there at some stage.

Most classes will be starting the year participating in the Reading Crusade, which runs from 9th February until 23rd March.
The aim of the Reading Crusade is to encourage children (especially boys) into a lifetime habit of reading, through positive promotion and through positive role modelling using the Crusaders.
Children will be asked to read their choice of six fiction or non-fiction books. Prizes are available and everyone entering will receive a participation certificate printed with the signatures of all the Crusaders team.

We have a selection of new books on display - come and check them out. You may see something that you would like to read during the 'crusade'!

Have a great term.
