Welcome to Week 8 and we are expecting a polar blast!
Time to get your books sorted so you will have something to do inside!
Thank you for all the Library surveys that I have got back. They have given us lots of ideas as to what kinds of books you would like in the library and what other activities and equipment you would like in there. It is a work in progress!
We have a mixture of new books this week. Two lovely picture books. Read 'The Snaggle Grollop' it's great.
There are also two new Graphic Novels - 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Rumplestiltskin'.
There are two very moving books in the 'Street Life' series. One is about growing up on the streets of Brazil and the other growing up in an area contaminated by the Chernobyl disaster.
These are not particularly 'nice' books but very thought provoking. Making us realise how lucky we are to live in New Zealand.
ENJOY YOUR LIBRARY. REMEMBER I WOULD LOVE A COMMENT!

Waimate Centennial School Library
It is so good to see the number of children using the Library at lunchtimes.
We have a Library full of wonderful books. There are also games to play during these cold lunchtimes.
A number of our new books this week have a vehicle theme. I'm sure boys in particular will be interested in these. Come in and have a look.
We have also got two lovely new Picture books especially for the junior children but they will be enjoyed by older children as well.
Look out for the survey that class teachers will be talking to you about. You can also fill one of these out your self. Surveys will be available in the Library.
By taking some time to complete one of these, we will be able to work towards having a Library full of books that you would like and will hopefully give us other ideas of what to have in the Library.

These can be taken out and will be changed regularly so come and have a look. I'm sure there will be something that you would like to read.
As well as those books we also have our selection of new books.
These include a lovely series of books about animals and how they live and survive.
We also have a new graphic novel and two lovely junior picture books.
Remember we also have a selection of magazines to read and games to play.
Come in and enjoy our lovely warm library!
It was great to see we had a visitor from USA to our blog site!
