This week we have several books with the theme of 'food' running through them.
If you are interested in finding out about several different foods and following the process from the natural resource to the finished product, have a look at these books.
There is also a small book looking at healthy choices for your lunch box and why some children have to eat, or not eat, certain foods.
We have four excellent books in a series, looking at how we can fuel our bodies with the right foods to keep us healthy,
We also have a selection of Senior and First Chapter books which I am sure you will enjoy.
Mrs Jury's Favourite:
My favourite this week is a book called 'Grow It-Eat It' which includes simple gardening projects and delicious recipes.
If you have already got your own garden or would like to have one then this book is a must for you. Take it home and persuade Mum or Dad to let you garden! It's great!

Waimate Centennial Library
I hope you have enjoyed your three day weekend and maybe you have found time to read a book from our library. There are many great books to choose from.
This week we have got another excellent selection.
The common theme running through the books is animals, so if you like animal stories or like reading about certain animals come and have a look at the new books.
There are six non-fiction books this week ranging from flies to cows and ice cream - yum!
We also have more horse stories, cat stories, sheep stories and a dragon story. They are all great books to read.
Mrs Jury's Favourite:
My favourite this week is another Greedy Cat story - 'Greedy Cat and the School Pet Show'.
I love Greedy Cat pehaps because we have a cat very much like him and I can just picture our cat not wanting to go to the school pet show either! Read and find out what happens.
I have another favourite this week and it is a book of poems called 'Worms Squirm ...'
There are some lovely, funny poems in this book. I read some of them to Room 6 this week and we thought they were very funny. Take some time and read some of them too.
